Welcome to Pethaven Quarantine Kennels and Cattery

We are located on an eight hectare, rural property, nestled in the Mangatawhiri valley, 40 minutes from Auckland International and Domestic airport.

Our quaint country location gives all boarding guests and visitors, a chance to relax and enjoy their stay with us, before starting their New Zealand life.

Working within Ministry for Primary Industry guidelines, we have created a kennel and cattery complex that provides visual stimulation beyond the confines of our guests unit. Visual stimulation was an area we planned to incorporate into our unique design, giving our facility an open and airy outlook.

We are the only Auckland quarantine facility that focuses solely on quarantine pets. With no domestic boarding or exporting to distract our team from providing the best care possible for our very special International furry friends.

Our facility is perfectly equipped to cater for the needs of each pet in our care including pets on medication. We feed Royal Canin as our premium dry food and meals topped up with a selection of wet food. We also cater for pets that are on special diets/raw food diets.

Management and staff are trained to monitor each pet throughout the day, providing them with toys, treats and active play time. Our facility has heating in the Kennel complex and Cattery. Each dog has a raised bed with blankets, a heat lamp over their bed, plus, large roof mounted heaters to keep them warm during winter. The Cattery is fully insulated and heated over winter. All cats are provided with a bed and blankets on raised shelves and for any nervous guests a hide away tunnel.

A Transitional Facility Operator lives on site to provide 24 hour service, 7 days a week.

Inspections are by appointment only. All inspections need to be approved by a Ministry for Primary Industries Inspector. Please contact us so we can gain the correct approval before your inspection.

Our commitment to caring for your pets has become a lifelong affair. We wish to make you pets stay with us comfortable as possible.
